Q: WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ON MY INITIAL VISIT?

A: First, we highly recommend that you fill out your paperwork prior to your appointment. This will help to insure that your allotted time is spent focused on helping you. Please check with the staff prior to your appointment to make sure you have the right paperwork filled out.
We will perform a Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis Diagnostic Test on you in the office.

  • BIA, or bioelectric impedance analysis is a diagnostic tool used in peer reviewed medical research programs. It is a fast, accurate and safe way to measure six key body composition elements. Through the study of the electrical properties of the body and their changes over time, health professionals can easily measure clients’ overall health and quickly chart their progress. BIA analysis is quick, painless and completely non-invasive, using four electrodes placed on the body: no needles or bloodwork required.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:  If you wear an external electronic monitor (e.g. “fitbit”), we ask that you refrain from wearing it at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you have an internal monitor (e.g. pacemaker) please let us know as soon as possible.

After the BIA is performed, including your vitals (blood pressure, pulse, height & weight); you will then have a consultation with Dr. Gravante. She will go over your Symptom Assessment, BIA and any diagnostic tests that you may want to bring with you from your doctor(s). She will do a thorough case history along with asking you about your current lifestyle. All this information will help her to assess your specific needs and body’s requirements.

Dr. Gravante will recommend a meal plan along with the appropriate functional food and supplements specifically designed for your needs. This is not a “one size fits all” program.
After your consultation with Dr. Gravante, one of our assistants will go over in detail your first months’ personalized program.

Once all your questions have been answered, it’s time to check out at the front desk and you’re all done!
